Radha-Shyam
Acrylic on Canvas
Dimensions-36*36 inches
Saraswati paintings take a lot of inspiration from mythology. In the past, many have interpreted Radha and Krishna in their own ways. They treated the characters according to the subject. Saraswati also painted these characters from her imagination. She used many designs, with a few unusual colors but varied tones. For example, there is a lot of blue in her paintings. Blue symbolizes Lord Krishna, and blue is also the color of love.
Her paintings have leaf backgrounds. The faces of Radha and Krishna, cows, deer, peacocks, Ganesha, and more cover them. It emphasizes the subject with a lot of subtlety. Radha, with a flute, looks very traditional. She has minimal jewelry, and her clothes feature intricate designs. She is sitting under a tree. Her paintings have many plants and animals. They are colorful and lively.
Saraswati, from Andhra Pradesh, earned a BFA from JNTU, Hyderabad. She then got a Master’s degree from the same university. She has five solo exhibitions and several group exhibitions to her credit. In 2008, the Hyderabad Art Society gave her the All India Art Exhibition Award. She also won the 4th CMS Vatavaran for Creative Expressions painting in Hyderabad. Her paintings are in collections with many art lovers in India and abroad.
