Umakant Kanade is a renowned artist whose paintings have a unique style that come from the blend of Indian and Western Art. He has had many exhibitions in India and abroad. Umakant Kanade paintings are in collections across the globe.

Umakant Kanade was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on 14th March 1949 to Maharashtrian parents who were originally from Pune (a city near Mumbai). He spent his childhood in Kolhapur where he studied at St Xavier’s High School before moving to New York City where he completed his education at Pratt Institute of Design before returning home again for an internship at Mehul Choksi’s studio during 1969-1971 period where he learnt about painting techniques under him before leaving again for Paris where he studied fine arts under Gerard Lavier & Jean-Paul Desroches de Blois who taught him everything about easel painting techniques like oil painters used for making artworks etcetera..

Umakant Kanade is an eminent painter of India who has been praised for his wide range of subject matter and style.  His work can be seen at different galleries across the world including Mumbai, New York City, London and Paris.
