Gallery Veda in Chennai showcased “Lignes de meditation” in 2012-13. Mumbai’s ICIA hosted “A Calligraphy of Touch and Gaze” in 2008. New Delhi’s Vadehra Art Gallery presented “Abahoman: Flowing Life” in 2007. CIMA Kolkata exhibited his works in 2006. Bose-Pacia Modern New York displayed ink and pastel pieces in 2002.

Earlier shows graced Santiniketan, Baroda, and New Delhi. His artistic journey began with oil paintings at Galerie du Haut Pave, Paris, in 1967. He lives and works in Santiniketan.

Jogen Chowdhury recently had a retrospective at Gallery Art Exposure. It showed over 300 works he created from 1955 to 2023. The exhibition covered Chowdhury’s life in art. It showed how his childhood during Partition and his love of alpona and terracotta goddesses shaped his work. It also showed how his time at the Government College of Art & Craft in Kolkata, where he learned to draw by observation, shaped it. His stay in Paris, where he saw Picasso’s works, and his years as a textile designer with the National Handloom Board in Chennai, shaped it too. The exhibition also included some of his before published poems. Despite being 84 years old, Jogen is currently working on a series of works in oil, which is a medium he has rarely used.
